The most obvious subversion of a stereotype in our thriller would be having the leading role of a hacker played by a woman. However the film 'girl with a dragon tattoo also uses this idea.
Within our thriller we used the idea of the hacker using a lot of technology, this conforms to the usual convention of a thriller, for example 'Die Hard 4'.
The idea of having guns within the thriller strongly conforms to the thriller genre, the high majority of all thriller will use a gun or similar weapon at some point.
Chase scenes are also strongly associated with thrillers, therefore having a chase scene in our thriller conforms to the thriller stereotype. Also the fact it's a woman being chased further conforms to the stereotype.
The idea of fighting is another idea that conforms to the thriller stereotype. However in our case we have a woman beating up a man this subverts to the general stereotype that men are physically stronger than females.
This picture shows the death of someone. This is generally associated with a lot of thrillers therefore conforming to the stereotype.
Our after affects title sequences show the audience what type of thriller it is. The graphs, maps and top secret signs show the idea of it being a hacker film with top secret information.
Casting an attractive female as the main role, upholds the convention that the majority of female character in films will be attractive.
